Admission at Little Genius Montessori
The Montessori program is best viewed as a two to three year commitment. For this reason, enrollment preference is given to younger children, transferring Montessori students, and siblings of former and current students. Admissions are based on availability of space and determination of staff that a child will benefit from the environment. Little Genius Montessori does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national and ethnic origin in its admissions or other policies of its program. Consideration may be given to age and gender in balancing the classes.
Prior to applying for admission to Little Genius Montessori, the parents must observe the classroom while the class is in session.
All children are placed on the waiting list upon completion of the application and payment of the registration fee. Children will be accepted into the program to balance the group by age and ratio of boys and girls. New children may enter the regular program in September and during the year if space becomes available.
We are interested in the parent’s evaluation of their child and their goals and desires for their child in our program. Pertinent information which may have been obtained from specialists is important to us as it may help us better meet the needs of the child.
Each child who enrolls in our school is first put on a thirty day probation period starting from their initial enrollment date. We use this time to fully evaluate your child’s development and ability to blend into an everyday learning environment. At the end of thirty days, your child’s teacher and/or director will meet with you to discuss his/her progress. We often find most children will seamlessly adapt to their new surroundings. If however we face a scenario in which a child encounters difficulty, we will work diligently with you to reach a solution that best supports your child’s transition. In the unfortunate event that this cannot be achieved, enrollment may be terminated.
